Wenn diese Skulptur tats\u00e4chlich aus dem 12. oder 13. Jahrhundert stammt, handelt es sich um ein \u00e4u\u00dferst seltenes, museales Meisterwerk. Es gibt jedoch ein gro\u00dfes \u2018Aber\u2019, das jeder Experte ber\u00fccksichtigen muss: das 19. Jahrhundert. Um 1900 war der neoromanische Stil \u00e4u\u00dferst beliebt, und geschickte Handwerker fertigten mitunter erschreckend gute Kopien an, oft aus historischem Eichenholz. Allein anhand eines Fotos l\u00e4sst sich dieser Unterschied einfach nicht mit absoluter Sicherheit feststellen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ich erw\u00e4ge nun ernsthaft, einen Schritt weiter zu gehen und eine offizielle dendrochronologische Untersuchung (Jahrringanalyse) durchf\u00fchren zu lassen, um das genaue F\u00e4lldatum des Eichenholzes wissenschaftlich bestimmen zu lassen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
