Are you looking for an authentic and historically valuable antique Thai Buddha statue for your collection? This impressive altar piece embodies the spiritual refinement and pure craftsmanship of the 19th-century Rattanakosin period. Where many examples on the current market are modern, soulless reproductions, this monumental sculpture with a height of 70 cm and a weight of 6 kg possesses an impressive, tangible presence.
Characteristics and origin
This exclusive collector's item of the antique Thai Buddha statue shows natural signs of aging, including layered dark oxidation in the folds of the robe and subtly worn details from historical use. The sculpture dates from the Rattanakosin period (with influences from the Ayutthaya style) and features a Vitarka Mudra gesture and an authentic Xuang mark. More information about the history can be found via the Wikipedia page about Thailand.
